Odisha Minister seeks scalp of Union Minister Bisheswar Tudu for beating government officials

Odisha Revenue Minister Sudam Marndi on Sunday lambasted Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Bisheswar Tudu for allegedly beating two state government officials on Friday.

While calling the case shocking and the first such incident in the whole country, Marndi demanded the immediate ousting of the BJP leader from the Union Ministry.

Speaking to the media about the case, Marndi said: “The Union Minister’s act of aggression against government officials has tarnished the image of the entire Mayurbhanj district that Tudu himself represents in the Lok Sabha of Parliament.”

“We learned several allegations on how he (Tudu) carried out the works through the officials out of sheer threat. If he is not fired soon, the whole unit of Mayurbhanj BJD will raise their voices on the question,” warned Tuesday.

On the other hand, Baripada BJP MLA Prakash Soren ruled out the beating incident as purely fictional.

“From the viral audiotape of the incident, it’s clear that the whole incident was pre-planned,” Soren claimed.

The BJD has failed to galvanize its strength in Mayurbhanj and hence is using wrong methods to spoil the Union Minister’s image, the BJP MP said.

Meanwhile, ADM Rudra Narayan Mohanty of Mayurbhanj has informed that all government officials in the district will be launching a three-day protest from January 24 wearing black badges in protest against the act of the minister of government. Union.

Notably, on Friday, Tudu allegedly beat District Planning Council Deputy Director Ashwini Mallik and Deputy Director Debashis Mohapatra after summoning them to his party office for a review meeting in Baripada. Both were injured in the incident.

A case was registered in the name of the Union Minister at the Baripada Town Police Station under Sections 323, 325, 294 and 506 of the IPC based on the allegations of attack made against him by the two officials.
