The government of Odisha has launched a special program called “Ekamra Plan” under the Department of Ekamra Kshetra Development Works in Bhubaneswar.
For the development of Ekamra Kshetra, an area of approximately 80 acres has been identified around Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar
The plan will include interventions for the conservation and revitalization of monuments, the development of facilities for the faithful and pilgrims, the pedestrianization of the project area and the diversion of traffic to the outskirts of the Ekamra project area.
For this project, an area of approximately 80 acres has been identified around Lingaraj Temple. In the project area, a large number of monuments are located outside sacred reservoirs and water bodies including Bindu Sagar.
In addition, the state government has established a Project Advisory Committee (PAC) to direct, guide and coordinate various issues related to the implementation of Ekamra Kshetra projects.
Santrupt Mishra has been appointed chairman of the committee which can invite any official, expert or member of the public to discuss issues related to the project or participate in the meeting, one official notification reads.
“Meetings of the Project Advisory Committee (CAP) will be convened at regular intervals to finalize various issues related to the development of the project area. All plans, projects, interventions and initiatives in the project area will be approved by this Committee. ” he added.
