New six-lane Brahmani Bridge to be completed by end of June: Chief Secy


Construction works of three of the six lanes of the second bridge over the Brahmani River at Balughat in Rourkela will be completed within the next 15 days, chief secretary Suresh Mohapatra has said.

After the completion of the three lanes, one side of the bridge will be opened and vehicles will begin to circulate, Mohapatra said.

The chief secretary also assured that the work of six lanes of the bridge will be completed by the end of June.

Mohapatra reviewed the execution of the bridge which has been long delayed. He asked officials to ensure the timely completion of the project works.

“There had been delays in the execution of the second bridge over the Brahmani River. We have decided that one side of the bridge will be open within 15 days. The six-lane bridge works will be fully open by the end of June,” he said.

During his visit to Rourkela, Mohapatra reviewed the progress of various projects including the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium, the venue for the 2023 FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, the Birsa Munda Market and Airport. Panposh.

Mohapatra also reviewed various projects during his visit to Sundergarh. He gave an update on two dam projects on the Ib River at Kopasingha and Kudabanga and ordered the projects to be completed on time.

“The tender process for two dams on the Ib River has been completed. Soon the work orders will be issued. Dams will stand at Kopasingha and Kudabanga,” Mohapatra said.
