NCPCR orders SP to submit report



The National Commission for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (NCPCR) asked the SP, Kalahandi to investigate and submit a report regarding the alleged exploitation of minors at the Sunshine Public School in Mahaling within three days.

“It has been brought to knowledge that Govind Sahu, who was recently arrested in connection with the murder case of teacher Mamita Meher, sexually exploited minors in the school,” reads the letter. of the Commission in Kalahandi SP.

“These sexual activities were performed in a separate room by Sahu. The defendants tempted the girls for good grades and BJD Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra went to school frequently, ”the letter added.

The NCPCR ordered the SP, Kalahandi to investigate and submit a report in relation to the allegations. The Commission asked the police chief to ensure that the identity of the victims is not disclosed during the investigation process.

The Commission also issued clear instructions to investigate the case in accordance with the POCSO law of 2012. The Kalahandi SP was invited to share information on the measures taken, if the case has been registered in accordance with the POCSO article 19/21.
