mental health day: ITC Fiama in collaboration with The Minds Foundation presents a virtual clinic for mental well-being

ITC Fiama, in its effort to encourage proactive conversations and awareness of mental wellness, today launched, in collaboration with The Minds Foundation, its first virtual clinic.

While conversations have begun, mental health continues to be stigmatized. ITC Fiama’s 2020 Mental Health Survey found that 70% of Indians under 25 experienced mental well-being issues, but only 26% saw a therapist or counselor. Over 70% of them rely on the Internet to do research before seeing a therapist.

The virtual clinic supported by Fiama is an additional option to enable affordable access to mental health therapy delivered by licensed professionals. It is a platform that encourages individuals to seek help in an intimate virtual space without fear of the embarrassment or stigma that prevails. The MINDS Foundation has specially assembled a team of highly qualified therapists for the Virtual Clinic, thus offering expert advice, therapy and counseling at the convenience of its own privacy.

The team of professionals includes Pragya Lodha (Program Director and Clinical Psychologist), Radha Kedia (MA in Applied Psychology from the Tata Institute of Applied Sciences), Dr Snehal Thamke (MD in Psychiatry) and Vahishta Kapadia (MA in Duration Counseling) of St Xavier’s College). The MINDS Foundation was founded in 2010 with the vision to create a world that fosters a shared approach to mental wellness – in which anyone, anywhere can access the resources they deserve.

The Founder and CEO of The Minds Foundation, Dr Raghu Kiran Appasani said in a statement, “As the prevalence of mental health problems continues to grow, we must work to meet people where they are, and this partnership with ITC Fiama allows us to provide this care in his own home. MINDS brings to this virtual clinic platform over eleven years of evidence-informed research and field experience, as well as decades of clinical expertise spread across our team, with the goal of providing psychotherapy. high quality to anyone, no matter where they live in India. . ”

Sameer Satpathy, Division General Manager, Personal Care Products Division, ITC Limited added: “Mental well-being is a critical indicator of health. The pandemic has underlined this again and there are a lot of people who need help. This is an effort to simplify the process of finding help and providing an effective and reliable online intervention for mental wellness.
