The Katahdin Valley Boys, a bluegrass band from Maines, will return to Vienna Union Hall at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at 5 Vienna Mountain Road, Vienna.
The band is made up of four members who all spin the lead vocals and provide tight harmonies and flowing solos. The KatahdinValley Boys were honored as recipients of the Bluegrass Band of the Year award for 2012 by the Maine Country Music Association and in 2008, 2009 and 2011 by the Maine Academy of Country Music. Each member brings many years of experience and professional showmanship with a traditional, hard-hitting Bluegrass sound. The Boys are unique in that all four band members are featured instrumentally and vocally in every set of every show.
The band includes Sidney native Jeff Folger, who is the lead and tenor harmony vocalist, playing the five-string banjo in a traditional, harsh style.

Ken Brooks, who lives in Athens and was honored by the Maine Country Music Association as an inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012. His rhythm and lead guitar playing as well as lead and harmonic vocals enhance the overall sound of the band.

Steve Bixby plays double bass, does much of the emcee work, and adds his vocals to the show. Originally from Ashland, Massachusetts. Bixby lives on the Pemaquid Peninsula in Round Pond.

Dan Simons from Vienna is a seasoned musician who plays bluegrass mandolin, sings lead and harmonic vocals and is a talented guitarist.
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 the day of the show.
