HARVEY, MI – Edna Elizabeth Koski, 93, passed away peacefully Friday, October 14, 2022 at Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee, where she had resided for more than three years.

Born December 27, 1928 in Marquette, daughter of Eino and Lempi (Hill) Hautio, Edna grew up on the family farm in Skandia. The family moved to Big Bay during her high school years and Edna graduated from Graveraet High School, Class of 1946. Edna always enjoyed her years in Big Bay and the many memorable events she experienced there including her personal encounter with Henry Ford while working at the Big Bay Hotel. On June 16, 1951, Edna married Edward A. “edi” Koski and was his beloved wife for over 47 years. Edna’s most imminent calling was to be a caregiver for her family members over the years, starting soon after high school. Her greatest joy, however, was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She thrived on socializing with family, friends and neighbors. Edna was a talented cook and baker who loved creating meals and desserts for her grandchildren, who especially enjoyed her delicious pies. Her other interests included a love of dancing and music. While residing in Eastwood, Edna was proud of herself and had such joy facing her family on her iPad, proving that you are never too old to learn new skills.

Edna was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Harvey, where she held many positions.

In addition to her parents, Edna was predeceased by her husband, Edward Koski on October 14, 1998; sons, Roger and Steven Koski; an infant granddaughter, Stephanie Koski; his brother, Harold Hautio and his friend and companion, Lowell Conklin.

She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla (Don) Rossow; daughter-in-law, Jill (late Steve) Koski; granddaughters, Elizabeth (Greg) Beck, Ashley (Colin) Turner and Alex (Ian) Lee; great-grandchildren, Bridget Beck, Jude Lee and Simon Lee; a sister-in-law, Arlene Keskimaki; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Eastwood Nursing Center for the loving and compassionate care Edna received during her years at home. “seaside resort”.

Friends can call Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Harvey on Friday, October 21, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Alex LaChapelle, pastor, will officiate. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens at a later date.
