NEW ULM – The Brown County Highway Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Office are reminding motorists that CR 13 from New Ulm to Hanska remains closed while construction continues.

Brown County Road Engineer Wayne Stevens said road construction is “Come kindly alone”, should be finished before the end of August.

“The workers put shoulders on the road, guardrails near the bridge, edge rumblings and will scratch it” Stevens said. “There were a number of motorists on the road. More people want to cross on the CR 25, which is not good in the middle of a construction site. There are a lot of trucks going up and down the road. It’s a dangerous place.

Closed road barricades are being put in place to notify drivers of the road closure, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. When a road is closed, it is illegal to drive in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $ 1,000 and / or up to 90 days in jail. Additionally, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, additional charges will apply.
