Washington, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – June 11, 2021): A CNN contributor who took leave eight months ago after exposing himself on a Zoom call returned to the air on Thursday.
Jeffrey Toobin, a prominent legal affairs analyst for CNN, apparently unwittingly exposed himself in October during a Zoom call with colleagues at The New Yorker, where he was also an employee.
The New Yorker fired him after the incident and Toobin had not appeared on CNN until his appearance on Thursday.
Toobin, 61, who said he thought his camera was off when he was seen masturbating during the video call, was asked about his behavior by a CNN host.
“I feel like we should address what has happened in the months since we saw you,” said presenter Alisyn Camerota.
“What the hell were you thinking?” “I thought I turned off the Zoom call,” Toobin said. “Now that’s no defense – it was deeply insane and indefensible.
“I am an imperfect human being who makes mistakes.” Toobin said he had spent the past few months “trying to be a better person.” “I’m trying to be the kind of person again that people can trust,” he said.
A CNN spokesperson confirmed to the network that Toobin will resume his role as chief legal analyst.
In addition to working at The New Yorker and CNN, Toobin is a former prosecutor and the author of several books.
