CISP will provide funds to research institutions for instrumental access


ISLAMABAD, Nov 6 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – Nov 6, 2022): In order to promote the culture of research in the country, the Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) has announced the provision of support funding to research entities in the country for instrumental access as part of a “Data Repository of Scientific Instrumentation” development program.

According to an official source, the objectives of this initiative include providing funds for instrumental access to research institutions, universities, research and development organizations and strategic research centers in Pakistan to carry out sample analyses.

It would also facilitate the teaching and research staff of the newly developed institutions as well as the existing institutions who do not have the scientific instrumental facility to conduct their research and create an online database of the scientific instruments available in the research centers, institutes and industries of Pakistan.

University researchers, students of M.Sc/MS/M.Phil/Ph.D or equivalent in the field of natural/applied sciences enrolled in a public or private university recognized by the Higher Education Commission and researchers working in research and development organizations can benefit from this program.

The application can be submitted including a summary or description of the research proposal, a copy of the synopsis or approved research proposal, a consent letter obtained from the service provider, and a brief profile of the research supervisor.

Mechanisms include application submission, Project Execution Committee (PEC) review or approval, forwarding to the relevant service provider, and billing and payment information.
